GIS & Asset Mapping

Map, maintain, and document any asset on the mountain.

Smart mountains use Ullr

Dozens of mountains (large and small) love Ullr because it's easy to use and a powerful tool to improve operations.

Map, maintain, and document anything on the mountain

Ullr GIS supports any department and any workflow on the mountain. We've built on years of experience with terrain parks & lifts to bring the power of Ullr's documentation, logbooks, maps, and work management to the whole mountain. Ullr GIS keeps a running history for each asset and opens up the same model to everything your crew is responsible for: signage, patrol gear, salt logs, summer attractions, and on-hill infrastructure.

All of your assets and on-hill infrastructure become part of the same map that already feeds guest maps, audits, and incident tracking. You can create tasks and work orders to link maintenance or inspections to specific assets. Everything rolls up into a logbook that can be used for audits, inspections, and incident tracking.

The use cases are endless. Here are just a few examples:

Signage & rope lines

Claims involving signage are common. Ullr can help you defend yourself by tracking the placement of your fixed and movable signs. Perform regular inspections on fixed signage to ensure legibility & visibility.

  • Slow signs
  • Closed signs
  • Lift signage mandated under ANSI B77.1
  • Hazard and warning signs

Rope and boundary lines get the same treatment: mapped, photographed, and checked on the same rounds.

Patrol equipment checks

AEDs, trauma packs, toboggans, fire safety equipment. Schedule recurring checks & inspections for them all. Everything is attributable to a specific person and timestamped.

Salt logs for parking lots & sidewalks

Ski resorts carry unique liability exposures, but general premises incidents remain one of the most common types of claim a resort sees. A timestamped, photo-backed salt log is exactly the kind of record that matters when one of those claims comes in. Create custom forms to log where you salted, when, and with a photo, pinned to the lot or walkway.

Summer attractions

Track the status and condition of your summer attractions. Create maintenance schedules and works order to keep everything running smoothly.

  • Mountain Coasters
  • Zip Lines
  • Climbing Walls
  • Ropes Courses

On-hill infrastructure

Slope lights, snowmaking infrastructure, utilities, water & air lines, and electrical. Keep up with what's installed where, what maintenance is coming up, and when everything was last serviced.

Ready to map the whole mountain?

Ullr for GIS is the most powerful version of Ullr — the full documentation, logbook, mapping, and work management toolset, pointed at every asset your mountain owns. Our team works with you to get it all set up.

Your mountain, your asset list

Define any asset, and track what matters about it

Ullr GIS lets you custom-build the asset types your mountain actually runs on, map each one the way it really exists on the hill, and decide what gets recorded every time someone checks in on it.

Define your own asset types.
Avalanche control placements, snow fence, culverts and water bars, evacuation kits, race venues, tubing lanes. If your crew is responsible for it, you can make it an asset.
Points, lines, and areas.
Not everything is a pin. Rope lines and fences are lines. A closed zone, a race venue, or a gladed area is a shape on the map. Each asset gets mapped as what it actually is.
Track what matters about each one.
Pick the fields per type: open/closed status, a gauge reading, an inventory count, a condition rating, a location. Every entry is timestamped, so you can see how it moved over time.
Nest assets as deep as you need.
Assets have parents and children, with no depth limit: lift → terminal → bull wheel → bearing. Inspect the bearing without losing the fact that it belongs to a lift.

Universal Logbook

A Logbook for every asset

Ullr GIS keeps a running history of every asset: every time it's moved, every property change, every inspection, and every maintenance task builds a searchable record over time.

Replace clipboards and binders.
One searchable logbook for every asset, instead of a binder per building or a clipboard per crew.
Every entry timestamped and attributed.
Know exactly who logged what, and when. No more ambiguous initials that make it impossible to identify an employee years after the fact.
Go back to any day, any hour.
Time travel to see any asset (and the whole mountain) as it existed at a specific moment in the past.
Built for audits and turnover.
When an auditor, an insurer, or a new hire asks what happened, it's easy to search and create a professional export.

Work that doesn’t slip through the cracks

Inspections, work orders, and maintenance schedules, in one system

Any asset can carry a task: a recurring inspection round, or a one-off repair raised on the spot. Assign it, and Ullr surfaces it when it’s due — with the record landing back on the asset it belongs to.

Assigned and accountable.
Tasks & schedules can be assigned to specific users or user groups. They get notified of upcoming tasks.
Get told, don’t go looking.
Stop checking up on crews, chasing paperwork, and flipping through binders to confirm the work happened. Ullr tells you when something is overdue or isn’t done, so a missed check surfaces the day it slips instead of weeks later.
Timestamped records.
Every completed check or repair leaves a record tied to a person, a time, and a location.
